The BBC confirmed today that it will reveal the identity of the 11th Doctor as part of a special edition of Doctor Who Confidential to be aired on BBC One tomorrow, Saturday 3 January 2009, at 5.35pm (UK time).
And here's the BBC trailer
Pretty cool. I'm looking forward to seeing how he does in the role!
How refreshing to see someone who doesn't want to b!tch about the chap. I'm already fed up of all the negativity surrounding the choice of actor which is all totally unfair before he's had a chance to show us his take on the character.
Personally, I like his chances. He seems to have a bit of natural eccentricity and I thought he was very good in the roles I've seen him in previously.
Folks can and will complain about everything. I have one friend who still can't accept Tennant in the role because she thought Eccleston was better. Even though Eccleston only did one season of the show, she still can't let it go and enjoy Tennant in the role. I can't wait to hear what she says about Matt Smith.
Now I wasn't so keen on Ecclestone, I think Tennant far more suited to the role. Though my Doctor will always be Peter Davison, as the one I first remember watching.
Peter Davison wasn't my first Doctor (Tom Baker was) but I always felt Davison was the best in the role. I also like Jon Pertwee, David Tennant, and Tom Baker.
Tom Baker was my favorite, until Tennant came along. Eccleston runs high on the list too, I wish he'd had another season or two.
We'll see... I can't imagine the folks behind the camera choosing somebody who'll completely fall flat as Dr. Who, not with the upswing the last two have given it. Though Tennant will be leaving a BIG pair of shoes to fill.
